Development

To ensure the continued development of sports science in rodeo and equestrian sports, key individuals who founded rodeo sports medicine in the United States and Canada have come together to establish The J. Pat Evans Research Foundation .

The Foundation will enable these experienced practitioners and others with extensive backgrounds in medicine, science, education, manufacturing and the major segments of the rodeo industry to help design and implement projects that directly benefit competing rodeo athletes as well as aspiring participants in all equine sports.

The Advisory Council will focus on the assessment and improvement of competitive performance rodeo events, (i.e. bareback, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, tie-down and team roping, bull riding, etc.) as well as other programs and procedures relevant to the welfare of the athletes and continued growth of the sport.

The Advisory Council is instrumental in the further development of the sport and along with the Directors and Executive Committees will engage in an ongoing effort to make certain equestrian sport specific questions will always be asked and answers always sought. The members of the Advisory Council are listed in the Governance section of the Website (click here to view).
