| To ensure the continued development of sports science in rodeo and equestrian sports, key individuals who founded rodeo sports medicine in the United States and Canada have come together to establish The J. Pat Evans Research Foundation
.
The research foundation will enable these experienced practitioners and others in the fields of medicine, science and allied health to design and implement projects that directly benefit competing athletes as well as aspiring rodeo participants.
The Foundation
committee members will focus on the assessment and improvement of competitive performance rodeo events, (i.e. bareback, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, bull riding, etc.). and other performance enhancement programs and procedures relevant to the sport of rodeo and its athletes.
The Foundation
will engage in an ongoing effort to make certain that equestrian sport specific questions will always be asked and answers always sought.
